around the globe, has taken another dimension; all thanks to gospel
artist Nathaniel Bassey with the birth of the “hallelujah challenge”
which has garnered more than 60000 followers halfway into this month.
The praise and worship session which goes live on Instagram for one hour
daily throughout the month of June runs between the hours of twelve
midnight to 1am daily.
The participation of Christians all around the globe has been tremendous with groundbreaking testimonies. The hallelujah challenge tagged Olowogbogboro is inherent in the meaning of the Yoruba word “the outstretched hand of God” which is ever ready to offer outstanding miracles. Videos of the live event are posted daily on YouTube.
The viral praise and worship session which goes live on Instagram has gained so much prominence so much so that it was featured on the prestigious Cable Network News (CNN). It all started with a simple post on the 31st of May where the gospel artist signalled his intention to kick start a 30 day midnight challenge throughout the month of June.
At its peak on Monday, CNN observed that around 68000 participants joined the Instagram livestream. Statistics reveal that the hallelujah challenge is the number one trend in Nigeria at the moment.
Bassey told CNN
“Against the backdrop of the challenges in the world today especially in our nation, with the scourge of terrorism and the recession, it has brought a sense of hope and respite. It is a reflection of the desire and hunger for answers and hope” he said.
Testimonies are usually shared by participants and this is a sort of motivation for prospective participants. It is so wonderful that Christians all around the world can connect with the intention of worshipping God in spirit and in truth.
