#DRC2017 – DAY 2, EVENING SESSION - 24TH MAY 2017
BY: @DrPastorPaulEnenche
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 8:22
MESSAGE TOPIC: A LIFTING UP BY THE GIVING COVENANT
SERVICE OBJECTIVE: Understanding the lifting power of the Covenant
The Giving Covenant is a lifter of men
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Harvest time is determined by sowing time
The major determinant of the harvest is the seed
2. The Covenant of giving works by the principle of intrinsic automaticity
The Giving Covenant does not require external input to survive
The seed is a major lifter of life and destiny
3. Seed time and harvest exist by an unbreakable law of creation
4. The Covenant is universal in applicability
SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE LIFTED BY THE GIVING COVENANT:
1. Abraham (Gen. 14:18-20; 12:7,8; 13:18; 22:9)
2. The widow of Zarephath (1Kings 17:13-16)
3. Job (Job 1:1-3,5; 29:11-17, 19-23)
4. Isaac (Gen. 26:1-3, 12-14, 16; 26:25)
5. The Shunamite woman (2Kings 4:8-10; 8:1-3)
6. Solomon (2Chron. 1:6-12)
Generosity in the Covenant is the doorway to greatness on earth
GIVINGS THAT GUARANTEE A LIFT:
1. The Tithe (Mal. 3:10-12; Gen. 14:18-20; Heb. 7:6; Gen. 28:20-22)
A faithful committed tither can never be grounded
The Tithe point is the blessing point; nothing distinguishes a life like the tithe
The Tithe is the converter of promises into blessings
Promises are the cheque, blessings are the cash and the tithe is the cashier
2. Offerings and sacrifices (Ps. 126:1-5; 1Sam. 1:21; 2Chron. 1:6-12; 1Sam. 2:19; Ps. 20:1-5)
Men and women who are sacrificers are men and women who go up
3. Giving to the needy (Ps. 41:1; Gen. 14:13-14; Prov. 19:17; Job 29:11-17)
4. Giving to the priest (Gen. 12:2-3; 1Sam. 9:5-8; Heb. 7:7)
It is not the man of God who needs what the person carries
ABUSES OF PRIESTLY GIVING:
4a. Preaching the subject like a needy person until the people begin to suspect you
4b. Making people pay to see the pastor (Matt. 10:8)
4c. Charging people for ministration
THE POWER OF THE GIVING COVENANT:
1. The Giving Covenant breaks the limitations of environmental and climatic factors
2. The Giving Covenant connects covenant practitioners to supernatural supplies (Mal. 3:10)
3. The Giving Covenant lifts people above adverse conditions and situations of the earth
4. The Giving Covenant connects the practitioners to the economy of Heaven
HOW TO MAKE YOUR GIVING EFFECTIVE:
1. Start from where you are (Gen. 13:14)
2. Maintain faith expectation
3. Give excitedly and cheerfully (2Cor. 9:6-7)
4. Give ‘pressurelessly’ (free of external pressure)
5. Give consistently (Gal. 6:9)
Many people do the right thing occasionally
Excellent people do the right thing consistently
PRAYER
Father, I come before You tonight to thank You for Your goodness and Your mercies. I receive the grace Lord to practice the Covenant, to practice it tirelessly, ‘pressurelessly’, excitedly and with full expectation; the grace to start from where I am, I receive it now in Jesus’ Name
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
- The grace to release and to receive
- Before this convention, you shall receive massive harvests
- Every garment of poverty and wretchedness is set on fire!
