CHURCH GIST - ABOUT US

CHURCH GIST-ABOUT US

Behold, I have given him for a WITNESS to the people...Isaiah 55:4

Making its debut at a time when God has promised to shake the earth and humble the world and its powers by His marvellous works in the Church of Christ, and making Lagos its home base, a town which is becoming a latter-day Jerusalem for the outflowing of great works and great Ministries, Church Gist has set itself the task of veritable Sentinel for the Mighty Works now being manifested in the Church, being the principal instrument of God's outworkings in these end times.
A basic challenge with Africa and Africans is a careless disposition towards proper documentation. Most of our history and folklore were handed down orally from generation to generation. As a tale is passed on from one to another, it losses accuracy in its original facts and embellishments are introduced based on the fancy of successive interlocutors.

The ascendancy of the oral tradition has also engendered a very bad culture of accurate record keeping. This is one of the areas Church Gist has chosen to address. Far from the wild generalizations, the unreliable guestimates and the poorly correlated reports that normally flow out of Christian gatherings, Church Gist is now providing the discerning reader actual, on the spot figures and measures of whatever parameter is desired backed up with verifying pictures. In addition, we are also supplying personal  profiles and incisive analysis based on accurate historical data regarding people, places and times.

Without any hesitation, one may say Church Gist is a most welcome addition to the stable of reliable reportage with the added benefit that its focus is on a subject not always held in favourable light or understanding by the secular press - the Works of God in our times.

"Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are MOST SURELY BELIEVED among us, Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were EYEWITNESSES, and Ministers of the Word; It seemed good to Me Also, having had PERFECT UNDERSTANDING of ALL things from the very first, to WRITE unto thee in order......"

Luke 1:1-3
