Profile of Dr. D. K. Olukoya (General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries)
Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya was born 56 years ago (1957) to Mr. And Mrs. Olukoya, a retired police officer and a petty trader respectively.
Dr. Olukoya had his primary education at Saint John’s CAC Primary School, Akure, Ondo State and later moved to Lagos to complete this at Saint Judes Primary School, Ebute Metta. In both institutions, he excelled.
He proceeded to Methodist Boys’ High School, Lagos, where he finished with Grade One Distinction and was the best student of his set. Indeed, this provided a lead way of the academic exploits which Dr. Olukoya eventually unleashed. In his quest for higher education, he preceded to the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he studied Micro-Biology and came out with a first-class degree honors, the first from the department since the university was established in 1962.

Not done, after about two years of teaching and subsequent employment as a Research Assistant in the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba, Lagos, Dr. Olukoya traveled to the United Kingdom under the commonwealth Scholarship, to the University of Reading, where he obtained Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics. It is worth pointing out that Dr. Olukoya finished his Ph.D. degree in record time, in spite of the difficulty of the subject and was probably the first Nigerian to obtain a Ph.D. in this subject area.
Although under pressure to remain and work in Britain against the background of his exploits in his chosen field, Dr. Olukoya, who had his eye fixed on God’s plan for his life returned to Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba, Lagos, and equally served as lecturer and external examiner to many universities, among which were UNILAG and the University of Benin (UNIBEN). Dr. Olukoya was the first scientist to establish an indigenous Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Nigeria. His laboratory was the first to clone genes in Nigeria. Dr. Olukoya has supervised over 30 Ph.D. students, most of who are doing well now in their chosen fields.
One important contribution to Biotechnology and Health delivery made by Dr. Olukoya was the invention of a new type of Ogi (pap), named Dogik, which is a weaning food that can control diarrhea and also contains improved nutritional qualities. As a researcher, he has over a dozen scientific publications to his credit.

However, if there is anything unique about Dr. Olukoya, it is love and passion for God right from his youthful days. His academic exploits notwithstanding, he devoted his time to God. Dr. Olukoya would become a mighty tool in the hands of God to serve as a vehicle of deliverance for his generation began to manifest very early in life. He continued to do exploit for God through evangelism and songs until he left for further education in England.
Upon return to Nigeria after the completion of his Ph.D., Dr. Olukoya continued to worship the Almighty God and was engaged in delivering of seminars, preaching, singing, among others, until God gave him the blueprint and the vision of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), which took off with some 24 people in his sitting room in Yaba, Lagos in 1989.
Against the background of the mighty things God was doing, the church moved from Dr. Olukoya’s sitting room to a hall at No 60, Old Yaba Road, Lagos. This, indeed, became insufficient as worshippers flooded major roads resulting in traffic jams following the teeming population that besieged the church.
MFM later moved to its present headquarters at UNILAG's second gate in 1994.

Since its establishment by God through Dr. Olukoya, MFM has experienced significant demographic spread in the last one and half decades. From its International Headquarters, the church oversees its branches located within and outside Nigeria in the geo-cultural milieu.
MFM has thousands of branches spread across Nigeria, Africa, Asia, Europe. A huge percentage of branches are also located in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Despite its less than three decades of existence, MFM, which is noted for its unique and powerful prayer style, has enveloped the nation like a colossus and the church’s headquarters at Yaba until her explosion of branches in 2007/8 was reported to be the largest single congregation in Africa, with attendance of over 120,000 in single meetings. Her membership as at 2009 was reported to bé over 1.5 million. The MFM Prayer City is also reported to hold gatherings of some 400,000 monthly and up to 1 million worshippers, every January during her Power Must Change Hands (PMCH) meetings. MFM has a nursery, primary and University at the Prayer City.

The 200 acres MFM Prayer City which began to operate in 1999 was built as an answer to the ever-growing throng of worshippers attending church programs in Yaba, Lagos. Prayer is said to go on 24 hours daily and this as far back as in July 2000. Presently the Mountain Top University, constructed within the same premises is awaiting her operational license from the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC). Pastor Olukoya gives millions of naira or car rewards to numerous deserving graduating student members of the church annually, the most recent being about N40 million ($250,000) distributed to about 77 people in 2013.
The MFM is constructing a 500,000 capacity 'Deliverance Stadium' at the Prayer City, at the cost of a whopping $125million (N20 Billion). It was originally scheduled to bé completed in 5 years; however, when completed it will bé the largest worship auditorium/edifice in the world. Banks, cafeterias, hostels, residential quarters and other facilities apart from the main worship pavilion can bé found in the city.
MFM is a ministry devoted to the revival of apostolic signs, Holy Ghost fireworks, miracles, and the unlimited demonstration of the power of God to deliver to the uttermost, absolute holiness within and without, as a spiritual insecticide and pre-requisite for heaven is openly taught.
Anointed by God, Dr. Olukoya, who is deeply inspired by the ministry of the late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola is a former member of the Christ Apostolic Church and is a prophet, evangelist, teacher, and preacher of the word of God. Apart from the scientific publications to his credit, Dr. Olukoya has written over 250 spiritual books, most of which are said to bé best sellers. The outstanding being PRAYER RAIN, a prayer manual that is being used by the Christian world, irrespective of the denomination they belong. This book has sold in millions of copies.
Besides this, Dr. Olukoya has over 70 Christian songs he has composed. The MFM like the Apostolic Faith Mission and Deeperlife Church before her has invested significantly into classical music and is reported to host possibly the largest musical organ in Africa.

Dr. Olukoya's life and that of his wife, Pastor Shade and their son, Elijah Toluwani (delivered in the due season after a long waiting period), are living proof that all power belongs to GOD.
MFM remains one of the fastest-growing churches in the world today and Dr. Olukoya continues to lead this end-time army of God.
