MY TWO CENTS ON EASTER: Brandon Bailey

Easter has its origins in Paganism. Passover has its origins in Jewish Traditions. Jesus became our Passover lamb. These two celebrations coincide annually. Whenever I listen to the debates around these two events the question that comes to mind:

Are we asking christians to surrender a day/weekend because pagans owned it?
Jesus gave us a very profound perspective on what happens when unconsecrated meets consecrated
Mark 2:25-28
"He answered, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?
In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”
Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Man has the power to change the meaning of a day and even bread and utensils that are reserved for only certain individuals
If you really want to be sound and accurate redeem pagan holidays and pagan holy days for God and stop it with being fearful about who owns the day and the weekend
