This is an absolute truth:we are not following cunningly devised fables when we make known to you the power of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:16).
Ours is not a made-up story or a fairy tale rather ours is an eye witness account. These are the things which by privilege of election and grace for obedience, our eyes have seen, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of life.

In Galatians 2:9 the Bible described James, Peter and John as the Esteemed Pillars of the Church in their days, but to the glory of God I submit to you that these two fathers of faith, Pst E.A Adeboye and his son, Bishop David Oyedepo are the Esteemed Pillars of the Church in this generation and the ones to come.

THE ARK OF REVIVAL HAS ARRIVED ON OUR SHORES By Ojo Stephen Gbadegeshin

The cloud of God moved from Egypt to Canaan, and anywhere the cloud stopped, the people did the same. The cloud of the church started moving from Jerusalem to Judea, to Samaria, then to Rome. The cloud moved again to Germany, Switzerland, Scotland and other European Territories, with the reformers like Martin Luther, Zwingli, John Calvin, John Knox, and Missionaries like Mary Slessor, Eric Liddel, David Livinstone, Hudson Taylor etc. to show for it.

The cloud moved to Spain, from there to America with men like Billy Sunday, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, T. L. Osborn, Robert Schuller, Norman Vincent Peale, Jimmy Swaggert etc. to show for it. The cloud moved to Africa with Nigeria as the center of spiritual gravity with men like Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola in the west, Assemblies of God in the East, Braide in the Niger Delta, Paul Gindiri and Idi Kano up North, Evangelist Kashibu in the North East and that generation especially through a Sccotish called Pa S. G. Elton evolved a new generation of “Anointed and Educated” ministers such as E.A Adeboye, W.F Kumuyi, Daniel Olukoya, Benson Idahosa, David Oyedepo, Gbile Akanni etc.

The cloud is now stationed in Nigeria because after the present interlude of empty noise making and crazy materialism, a promising generation that will manifest God’s glory not man’s glory will soon emerge. That is where we must belong.

What a great God who picked a tractor driver (Ayo Babalola) and made him raise the dead at Ilesha in 1930. He was just 24. The same God poured His Spirit on a group of young men/women at Old Umuahia (Assemblies of God) in 1934, inspired an illiterate (Josiah Akindayomi) to found RCCG, with a covenant that the church will become a global household name, mandated a corper (Gbile Akanni) to stay permanently at Gboko with a promise that from there, the world will hear his voice.

The same God backed up a BATA Company Accountant to carry the gospel worldwide (Benson Idahosa). He picked Adeboye and promised him a city, evolved a great denomination through Kumuyi, put the word of faith in the mouth of Oyedepo, backed Uma Ukpai with signs and wonders. He raised the blind (Obadare and Akande) to open the eyes of the blind, anointed Charles Osueke to break His bread, He put fire in Oritsejafor’s bones, inspired Daniel Olukoya to lead the church into prayers etc.; what a great God! Father, The glory of the latter house MUST be greater then the former; we are here for you!

Let me call for a minute silence in honour of all those killed by the Boko Haram terrorists, Fulani herdsmen, bandits and kidnappers in the country.

You are all aware of the gruesome murder of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi, by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, because he refused to be converted to Islam. Although, the group initially demanded the sum of N50m and, when against all odds, the ransom was ready, they asked for €2m. It was in the process that they reached out to our people in Adamawa State to notify them that since the gentleman had refused to be converted to Islam, they had decided to behead him. And that was what they did. In the same state, just last Sunday, a clergyman, Rev Denis Bagauri was murdered by unknown gunmen in his residence at Mayo Belwa of Adamawa State, all because he was a Christian.

You are also aware of the beheading of 11 Christians by Islamic State in West Africa on Christmas Day of 2019 in Maiduguri including a bride to be.
Few days ago, four seminarians of the Good Shepherd Catholic Seminary in Kakau, were kidnapped along Kaduna-Abuja Road and we have not heard anything about them.

In Kaduna State, the most recent happenings were those of 35 people killed and abduction of 58 persons when bandits raided 10 communities in the Chikun and Birnin Gwari Local Government areas on January 13, 2020. These criminals are everywhere operating with impunity and they have been stopping commercial and private vehicles asking them to come down and telling them to say what their religion is.

Because the local church is like a family, you will have some of the same problems in a church that you have in a family. Children need to be disciplined, and sometimes church members need to be disciplined or corrected.

But the same thing is true concerning pastors and ministers. Sometimes ministers experience problems — moral, financial, and even doctrinal problems — just as other people can have various problems. Sometimes they need discipline and correction. And we need to help them when we can.

Years ago I asked a leader of a certain denomination, "When ministers miss it and fail, why isn't it handled biblically? The Bible says in Galatians 6:1, '. . . if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.' Why aren't ministers restored like the Bible instructs?"

WHY I LOVE THE BOOK OF JAMES (James' Book Summarized) by Pst. Poju Oyemade

The book of James is a manuscript that has been found by most scholars, theologians, believers controversial and have primarily struggled with because of the emphasis it some think he places on work. Faith without works is dead. However, at the same time it draws a balance to some of Paul's writing which some preachers believe it is out of place. 

Also many people tries to wrap their head on some critical issue of trials raised in first few verses, the matter of faith and work, and also some other sensitive matters in this book. However it must be noted that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: so that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. A misunderstanding that has led to slothfulness - "It all happened through God's unmerited favour" (Part 2)

We highlighted in the previous article that there is a religious mindset that prevails among a good number of people concerning how God blesses. The concept of grace being unmerited favour has made many think it brings great glory to God when testifying about how unqualified, unprepared and second rated their work was among others and yet God did it for them.

Many feel then and then only will men understand the goodness of God. It sounds like what was said in the days of Paul "shall we continue in sin that grace may abound". It is a total misconception of what grace is and how God works first in and then through man. The thinking is that I can do substandard work but God will still elevate me by His grace (unmerited favour). The whole premise of grace doesn't function that way.

God picks up "nobodies" pours His grace into them transforming them into men of excellence and outstanding character whom their environment have to depend on to survive and thrive.

Paul speaking about this grace did not show any sign of slothfulness in his dealings. He said I am what I am by the grace of God.
